I keep seeing that 14% number on deportations, but I think phrasing it in the positive is more clear about what is happening: 344,000 people who have not committed violent crimes have been deported.
Agree. Calling out the 84% of those who were wrongly unlawfully arrested/deported should the focus. The 14% of actual violent criminals should in fact be brought to justice in a legal fashion. But doing your job at 14% accuracy is appalling, especially given the inhumane undemocratic nature of your 84% wrongdoing. Not to mention the dangerous environment it’s creating within public spaces. What an atrocity.
Where is the mainstream media holding Trump and his synchophants feet to the fire when they tell their many lies, half truths, exaggerations or ommissions? Why even give them air or print time when they are just repeating old lies? Just calling their words and actions 'unprecedented' is like calling a malignant cancer benign.
Thanks for telling it like it is, Matt. It's not clear that criminal means violent really. I think many people might say that it was worth putting eight people in jail to take one violent criminal off the street. But republicans would say that all eight broke the law by coming across the border illegally. They would say all eight should be deported for that reason. Why are people so far apart on this issue? Now some Republicans might say that they thought trump would only jail violent people in the country illegally, but that does not mean they are sgainst deporting others. Republicans have turned against the dreamer concept now - it was not part of the last bill.
Sorry, Matt, a correction- Ilia M's performance as the USA team's representative of men's skating helped the USA win the Team gold. Men's individual skating is coming up, as well as the women's and duos.
